So, the 2008 season has kicked off with the first round of testing in Barcelona!

Sebastian finished 13th, and got the chance to carry out a track evaluation of the common ECU now required to be used by all teams for the 2008 season. He also got to test new brake material and suspension.

His new team mate, also Sebastian (Bourdais), finished 15th, and tested aero components while running without traction control and engine braking systems. It was Bourdais' first ever run for the team, which will now be known as the Sebastian Team. \o/

Annnnnd Michael Schumacher finished in 1st place, testing for Ferrari. (Sorry, wait, Michael who?)

Tonio Luizzi will try out for a place in Force India (formerly Spyker) for next season. He'll be competing with Christian Klien for the seat, so let's wish him the best of luck!

This is something to look forward to during the off-season: Sebastian will team up with no other than Michael Schumacher himself at this year's Race of Champions in December.

Welcome to the first and only Livejournal community dedicated to the up-and-coming wunderkind, Sebastian Vettel! (I HAVE FORESIGHT.) Yes, all three of you. Feel free to post anything-- icons, picspams, etc etc.

To kick things off, let's start with the results from Friday's second practice round in Brazil.

Sebastian Vettel, Toro Rosso (17th, +1.642s):
“This is one of the best tracks of the year and fun to drive. The new surface seems to be quite grippy, which can also be seen comparing this year’s lap times to last year. The new surface has eased the bumps a little bit, but towards the end of the session as it dried, you could see the marks where the cars are bottoming and it seems to be in the same places as last year. In terms of our performance, the wet conditions this morning made for a difficult day. But, even if we did not get enough time in the dry today, we tried to get data on both tyre specifications which seem to be rather on the soft side, so we will have to see how the situation evolves tomorrow.”

That's a ten place drop from his 7th place finish on the first round, but we all know what he's capable of, y/n?

Also, you can vote for Sebastian for Autosport's Rookie of the Year award! Yes, I know Lewis Hamilton's there.
